The original room suffered from years of wear and tear including peeling walls damaged flooring water-stained ceilings and outdated furniture
The client wanted to preserve the layout but upgrade every aspect from structure to aesthetics
Demolition and Surface Prep
We began by removing the old furniture scraping off peeling paint and replacing damaged drywall
The flooring was lifted to reveal underlying water damage which was fully addressed before installation of new materials
Walls and Paint
Fresh drywall and two coats of premium paint in a warm modern gray Sherwin Williams Repose Gray were applied
This neutral tone helped elevate the space while keeping it cozy
Flooring
Installed engineered hardwood flooring in a natural oak finish for durability and a clean aesthetic
Approx 250 square feet at 650 per square foot installed total 1625
Lighting
The client wanted smart lighting so we installed recessed LED ceiling lights with dimmable app controlled switches and a modern flush mount centerpiece fixture

Furniture and Decor
The room was reconfigured with a modern beige sectional 950 an accent charcoal lounge chair 450 a custom circular smart coffee table with charging ports and ambient under lighting 1150 two minimalist abstract wall paintings 300 and neutral rug curtains side table and lamp 600

Client Vision
The client had an empty corner in their unfinished basement and wanted to convert it into a fully functional bathroom
The main priorities were maximizing space clean design moisture protection and adding property value through smart planning and durable materials
They requested modern finishes a walk-in shower and a clean color palette that complements the rest of the home
Demolition and Framing
The concrete floor was core-drilled for new plumbing lines including toilet shower and vanity drains
We framed new walls with pressure-treated bottom plates and moisture-resistant insulation for long-term durability
Plumbing and Electrical
Installed new underground plumbing tied to the existing main drain with venting routed to code
Electrical included two GFCI outlets a vanity light LED recessed lighting and a ceiling exhaust fan
Walls and Flooring
Moisture-resistant drywall was installed and painted in a soft beige to make the small space feel open
The floor features waterproof luxury vinyl plank in a light oak tone for both style and function
Fixtures and Layout
Toilet was placed on the left wall for better spacing
Installed a 36 inch white shaker-style vanity with brushed nickel faucet and mirror
Included a glass door shower enclosure with integrated shelving and a rainfall shower head
Finishes and Trim
Trim work was added along the floor and ceiling for a clean finish
Exposed ceiling joists and ducts were left as-is to keep a modern industrial basement aesthetic
